Internet usage in South-East Asia has increased significantly over the past 10 years. The number of “netizens” varies in each country with Singapore (82%) being the most connected and Myanmar (2.1%) being the least connected (figures from 2014). Estimates for 2016 report remarkable increase in internet users for Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar which is consistent with rapid economic growth in these countries. The same ranking among the South-East Asian countries however remains the same, with Singapore and Myanmar having the highest and lowest percentage of penetration respectively.
