Performing a Patent Search in India

A patent is an exclusive right granted for an invention (a solution to a technical problem), which entitles its holder to prevent third parties from commercially exploiting the invention. Indian patents are granted by Indian Patent Office, after examining the patent application filed by the applicant. This examination may lead to the rejection of the application or to the grant of a patent.
