Description
Sweet Child is a Belgian SME that creates custom-designed baby bottles shaped to replicate the mother’s breast, aiming to support breastfeeding and reduce nipple confusion in infants. The company prides itself on a product developed by mothers and midwives to meet the specific needs of breastfeeding mothers.
Eager to protect their brand internationally, Sweet Child independently filed trade mark registrations in multiple countries, including Brazil, through the Madrid System. However, lacking local IP expertise, they faced procedural challenges. Specifically, their Brazilian application was met with a provisional refusal due to inconsistencies in color specifications. To navigate this issue and gain insights into best practices for IP protection, Sweet Child turned to the Latin America IP SME Helpdesk for guidance.
