Description
PAS, a software association in Poland, organized a mission to Brazil for Polish SMEs interested in expanding into the Brazilian market. Ten SMEs from the association joined a trade event focused Software in Rio de Janeiro.
During this event, all companies had a common booth where they engaged with Brazilian companies, presenting their innovative ideas and business propositions, with the goal of forming partnerships.
One year after the event, the Polish companies discovered that most Brazilian businesses with whom they had made business deals were unresponsive. Moreover, some companies found that their trade marks had been registered in Brazil by local entities who had copied their names during the event, and were now demanding payment to release the rights.
