International Trademark Association (INTA)

Valentina Salmoiraghi is the Senior Anticounterfeiting Advisor at the International Trademark Association (INTA). Based in Singapore, Valentina supports the implementation of the INTA Strategic Plan coordinating the activities and projects of the Anticounterfeiting Committee of the Association, and working on policy and advocacy initiatives. She focuses on external relations, advocacy and strategic planning globally.

Valentina has over 16 years of experience working in Asia with intellectual property rights protection and enforcement and joined INTA in 2018. Previously, she has worked with various European Chambers of Commerce on their IPR SME Helpdesk projects in China and in South-East Asia as IP Business Advisor and was also an External IP Expert for South-East Asia the China IPR projects which are funded by the European Union. She has a background in legal services and worked with leading law firms in Italy, China, and Singapore. 

Valentina holds a Master’s Degree of Law – International Institutions and Organizations from Bocconi University in Milan (Italy) and a Master’s Degree in Law from the University in Barcelona (Spain). She speaks English, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, French, and Spanish.

Mr. Jonas Lindsay

SEA IP SME Helpdesk and Marks & Clerk Singapore LLP

Jonas Lindsay is a registered Singapore patent attorney, a UK chartered patent attorney and is also European qualified. He has been based in the Singapore office of Marks & Clerk since 2015. He worked in the London office of Marks & Clerk for seven years prior to transferring to Singapore. Jonas graduated from Imperial College London with an MSc degree in Physics. He speaks Japanese and spent two years living in Japan prior to becoming a patent attorney. He regularly visits Japan and has given many presentations in Japanese on Singapore patent law and patent prosecution in the ASEAN region.

Jonas specialises in software and electronics patent matters and has particular expertise in computer-implemented inventions in areas such as artificial intelligence and fintech. His specialism includes advising on subject matter that is close to the boundary of what is patentable.  

Jonas was named an “IP Rising Star” in 2018 and 2019 by Managing Intellectual Property.

Dr. Claudia Tapia
Director IPR Policy and Legal Academic Research
Ericsson GmbH

Dr. Claudia Tapia is Director IPR Policy and Legal Academic Research at Ericsson. Claudia’s main responsibility is to lead the Research IP Policy’s team and its activities worldwide. Prior to joining Ericsson, Claudia was Director IP Policy at BlackBerry. While at BlackBerry, she focused on various aspects of intellectual property, including intellectual property rights policies in standards, global patent policies, as well as licensing and litigation.

Claudia is also president of 4iP Council and a member of the Editorial Board of The Patent Law magazine and of the Intellectual Property Magazine.

Claudia holds a law degree from the University of Valencia, an LLM degree specialising in International Patent Law from the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich and a PhD degree (summa cum laude with a scholarship of the Max Planck Institute) on FRAND and Standardisation in the telecoms sector from the Faculty of Law in Augsburg. She has also a certificate as ‘Expert in Psychology of Coaching’ (UNED university in Spain).
