Synopsis:
There is no doubt that intellectual property has always been important, however, with the speed of digitalisation it has become paramount. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the process of digitalisation in every aspect even in traditional sectors such as banking, health, education, retail and manufacturing. Companies in these sectors, who were able to jump on the digital train quickly or who had already started their digital journey were better equipped to handle the disruption brought on by COVID-19. Companies already present in the digital space have only accelerated under the pandemic. However, with this progress comes other issues which need to be tackled. In an increasingly digitalised world IP becomes more and more vulnerable to theft as the digitalisation makes it easier to copy and counterfeit products as well as distribute these goods afterwards. It is essential that companies protect their IP through the means available including copyright.
EuroCham Singapore and the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk are proud to bring you a webinar on this increasingly important topic. The digital economy will only continue to grow, and most companies are already a part of it, or they will be very soon. As such it is essential to understand how to protect once IP in the digital space.
