Geographical scope: Botswana, Eswatini, the Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
This webinar is aimed at small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the EU and abroad that already operate or plan to internationalise their business in Africa and need to protect their IP assets. Participants will delve into the complexities of IP enforcement in Africa and gain practical insights from experts in the field.
IP enforcement specialists will explain the main opportunities and challenges for EU SMEs that wish to protect their IP assets in the abovementioned ARIPO countries. They will introduce ARIPO and its role, discuss typical IP enforcement issues and engage in lively discussions with participants. They will also present real-world case studies of European companies with experience of IP enforcement in the region.
During the webinar, participants will hear from representatives of the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights about the current risks of illicit trade in counterfeits to SMEs.
