The AIPPI - International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property is delighted to be collaborating with WIPO and South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk for the first edition of our "Scan the Globe" webinar series on 2 June at 10 am CET.
In this 1.5-hour webinar, we will present a summary of IP systems in the ASEAN region:
- Outline of IP systems and applicable treaties
- Recent statistics with the number of applications and registrations, percentages filed by domestic applicants, trends
- Selected topics like recent or expected changes in the IP systems, current problems or issues, notable events or cases, enforcement strategies
For this session, we will welcome as speakers Peter Willimott, Officer-in-Charge at WIPO, Elio de Tullio, External Expert at South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, and Regina Quek, Second Deputy Secretary General at AIPPI.

About Scan the Globe Webinar Series
Scan the Globe is planned as a series of webinars to be started under the 125th anniversary activities, which will begin in 2022 with at least two separate webinars and will last in 2023.
The purpose is to give AIPPI members access to information about IP laws and practices around the world, especially regarding lesser-known jurisdictions/regions in terms of developments, and share recent litigation cases to show the implementation of the law and where certain decisions made during IP prosecution can affect later enforcement abilities.
This series will strengthen our internal relationship and engage with national associations within the region.
