Description
France views India as a significant market and is working to promote joint ventures and investments to and from India. In fact, the Indian imports of services from France have recorded a substantial growth of 73.81% last year from € 2.24 billion in 2020 to € 3.90 billion in 2021.
Thus, it is crucial to for the French companies to consider India's Intellectual Property (IP) ecosystem and identify key distinctions between European and Indian legal systems. A first-line advisory on IP, therefore, is essential because market plans and IP strategies of the organisations are typically intertwined.
With support from the Embassy of France, Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), along with India IP SME Helpdesk is organising a Business Roundtable for General Counsels of SMEs and select French companies across the Aviation, Luxury and Technology sectors.
The objective of the training session is to orient the French companies on the Indian IP ecosystem with the help of case studies and patent filing statistics around it. Also, an overview of aspects of the Indian IP ecosystem, for example, potential challenges, recommended approach to address these challenges, key distinctions between EU and Indian IP regulations etc. This will help French businesses to consider the relevant IP regulations in their business expansion strategy for the Indian market.
