Protecting your trade marks at the OAPI

The African Intellectual Property Organisation (OAPI) is responsible for the uniform protection of intellectual property rights across its seventeen member states. It is governed by a uniform regional convention, the Bangui Agreement.

Recent amendments to the agreement have, among other changes, introduced a series of significant changes to the trade mark registration process in the OAPI IP system. IP Experts Marius Schneider and Nora Ho Tu Nam from IPvocate Africa will help businesses interested in protecting their trade marks in the region learn the key tips to gain maximum protection and reduce costs.
