Introduction to India IP SME Helpdesk & Key differences in IPRs between EU and India

European and Indian entrepreneurs and SMEs are disrupting the technology industry, creating new partnerships for innovators and enterprises. However, they face challenges with intellectual property rights (IPR) and data protection, particularly due to discrepancies between EU and Indian rules. Understanding the Indian IP ecosystem and divergence from the EU is crucial for facilitating cross-border partnerships and developing successful market entry plans. GIFAS and the India IP SME Helpdesk, is organizing a session with INPI and EBTC to provide a holistic insight into the IPR ecosystem in India, particularly from a European perspective. Given the importance of data protection and privacy in this ecosystem, it also teaches them on the sector-relevant features of India's newly introduced Data Protection Bill and the differences between Global Data Protection Rights (GDPR) in Europe.
