WIPO Announces: WIPO Global Awards 2022 Finalists

World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Global Awards program is a new initiative that recognizes the important role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) using intellectual property (IP) to make positive impact in the society.

For the first-ever edition of WIPO Global Awards focused on SMEs, 20 innovative companies are nominated for the prize among 272 submissions from 62 different countries. A diverse and international seven-people jury with expertise in IP, innovation and business will evaluate the candidates and select five final winners. The jury will use a range of criteria, including the successful commercialization of IP and its positive impact on economy, society or culture.

The champions will be awarded with a WIPO Global Awards Murano Trophy as well as with many visibility and promotion opportunities.  The winners will also benefit from customized mentorship programs and facilitation of access to financial/commercial sponsorship programs as well as skills building program through an IP Skills Building Course for SMEs specifically designed for the awardees.
