Registration Now Open: INTA’s Asia-Pacific Moot Court Competition to be Held in India in 2025

The International Trademark Association (INTA) Asia-Pacific Moot Court Competition will be held in New Delhi at The India Habitat Center on 8-9 February 2025. This prestigious event continues to promote intellectual property (IP) knowledge and skills among law students in the Asia-Pacific region.

INTA, which has hosted moot court competitions for over 30 years, started the Asia-Pacific edition in 2017. Traditionally held in Singapore, the competition's move to India reflects the growing interest and active participation from Indian law schools. The event aims to provide students with an opportunity to engage in complex IP issues in a court-like setting, further enhancing their expertise in the field.

The competition is designed to expose law students to critical issues in international trademark and unfair competition law. Through the competition, students will enhance their skills in brief writing and oral advocacy by applying international legal principles to a fictional case. Participants will present their arguments in a mock courtroom before a panel of judges, which includes prominent figures from the IP community.

This year, teams will argue the case of Dolphin Gaming Adventures, Inc. v. Dol-Fin Excitement, LLC and Dolly Paffin, focusing on trademark disputes in the gaming industry. The case will address fundamental trademark issues, such as likelihood of confusion, priority, and the scope of trademark rights, providing students with a valuable opportunity to engage with real-world IP challenges.
