On 29 July 2024, the European Commission (Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SME) initiated a public consultation to collect direct input from interested stakeholders. This consultation aims to aid in the preparation of the Commission’s upcoming communication and promotion campaign concerning craft and industrial geographical indications. Additionally, it seeks to assist the Commission in refining the Union’s international policy on geographical indications for craft and industrial products.
The collected information will help the Commission to shape the current and future international policy on craft and industrial geographical indications vis-à-vis third countries in relation to concluded, ongoing and future international negotiations.
The public consultation will be open until 10 October 2024.
