In 2015, the Government of India launched the Smart Cities Mission to develop 100 smart cities in India. The main purpose of the project is to encourage sustainable and inclusive cities that: provide a core infrastructure, improve the quality of living, foster a clean and sustainable environment and create ‘smart’ solutions to challenges. These 100 cities benefit from substantial funding to help develop projects to improve living standards in urban environment, which go from sustainable energy consumption to the offering of digital services to citizens for administrative procedures and waste management.
Our new infographic sums up key aspects of the topic, and highlights the most important IP rights in relation to smart cities as well as major benefits of using IP.
