EUIPO and EUROPOL have just produced jointly a new report on "Intellectual property crime threat assessment 2022". This report casts new light on the scope, magnitude and trends in counterfeiting and piracy in the EU.
According to the report, the majority of counterfeit come from Turkey or China. Notwithstanding that, some countries in Latin America are also mentioned as top countries of the provenance of counterfeit goods entering the EU: like Argentina (toys sector), and Panama (food and beverage sector)
