New EU Toolbox against counterfeiting: EC opens call for evidence

The European Commission (EC) is currently working on an EU Toolbox against counterfeiting that aims to set out principles for coherent joint action, cooperation and data sharing among right holders, intermediaries and law enforcement authorities. The European Commission has now launched a call for evidence on the EU Toolbox against counterfeiting.

The EC is interested in amping up their fight against piracy of goods for a variety of reasons: from counterfeit wares misleading consumers and potentially putting their health and safety at risk to companies losing sales and tax revenues. The just-launched call for evidence on the EU Toolbox aims to capture the views and opinions of all relevant public and private sector stakeholders in order to further develop and fine-tune the Toolbox.

The feedback tool will be open until 3rd of March.
