Brazil's National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), in collaboration with the National Consumer Secretariat and the National Council to Combat Piracy (CNCP), has launched a new feature in the National Directory against Trade Mark Counterfeiting. This platform allows authorities with police and inspection powers to access contact information for representatives of original trade marks quickly.
The directory centralises information on more than 35,000 registered trade marks, making identifying and combat counterfeit products easier. Authorities can contact legal representatives immediately when they come across counterfeit goods.
Registration for the platform is open via email at directioagentepublicoinpi [dot] gov [dot] br (directioagentepublico[at]inpi[dot]gov[dot]br), with additional support available from the INPI.
