Indian Government offers a 80% fee reduction in patent registration costs for all recognised education institutions

This 80 percent fee reduction will  apply to all recognised educational institutions, public and private, irrespective of whether these institutions are situated in India or anywhere in the world, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said.

Such financial incentives will come hand by hand with a strong commitment to raise awareness about the importance of having a strong intellectual property system, in particular among the young.

The ministry Piyush Goyal also said that they would like to improve India's ranking in the Global Innovation Index from 48 to among the top 25.
