INAPI's new green patent program reducing average processing time

As was the case before with INPI Brazil, INAPI Chile has decided to follow the Brazilian path in order to reduce the patent process for green inventions by up to a third.

EU SMEs that are innovating in green technology may benefit from now on in Chile by taking advantage of the "Accelerated Processing of Green Patents" program.

Part of the main requirements of the initiative is to have a patent application that is published, that there is no ongoing opposition, and that the expert fee is paid, among other aspects.

A guide on this procedure (in Spanish), may be found here: https://www.inapi.cl/docs/default-source/2023/patentes/guias-pph/guia_procedimiento_acelerado_de_patentes_verdes_inapi_20230320.pdf?sfvrsn=938d432d_2
