INAPI Chile reactivates contentious procedures suspended during the pandemic

A new Circular in Chile N° 398 of 2020 reactivates contenious procedures that were on hold since the pandemic. During the Covid-19 crisis, the Chilean Constitutional State of Exception affected the judicial system by suspending some judicial procedures.

This new Circular establishes the mechanism to reactivate contentious procedures in the matter of trade marks and patents that were suspended, such as:

- the suspension of evidentiary terms

- and the holding of pending evidence hearings,

- among other actions.
