The European Patent Office (EPO) and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) have launched a user survey on a pilot that enables nationals and residents of the People's Republic of China to select the EPO as their International Search Authority (ISA) when filing international patent applications under the PCT for which either the CNIPA or the International Bureau (IB) of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) act as receiving Offices.
You can submit your comments in Chinese, English, French, or German until 15 October 2021, regardless of already having participated in the pilot or not.
The pilot was launched on 1 December 2020. Increasingly, companies are choosing this route as additional support for Chinese inventors to protect their inventions abroad and obtain quicker and stronger protection for their technology in Europe.
