European IP Helpdesk Participated in Eureka Global Innovation Summit 2024

EUREKA Türkiye

Last week, European IP Helpdesk team participated in the Global Innovation Summit in Istanbul together with the Impact Licensing Initiative, The Data Thank, Vlannderen Red Cross and Eureka Network to discuss use of the Impact Licensing (IL) as a concept for the technology licensing in the crises and emergencies.

Our Senior IP & Innovation Advisor, Ivana Vuka, presented the pivotal role of the regional innovation intermediaries during crises. These intermediary organisations and regional innovation actors—including Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs), innovation agencies, Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) members, Cluster Organizations, and Digital Innovation Hubs— serve as critical bridges. They are essential in identifying relevant intellectual property (IP) owners, spotlighting key technologies, and assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in understanding and applying IL mechanisms and principles.

Moreover, other organisations and initiatives focused on supporting innovation namely, European IP Helpdesk, International IP SME Helpdesks, European Innovation Council (EIC), European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), ASTP and many others play a significant role in comprehending and implementing IL mechanisms and principles.
