European Inventor Award 2022: The Winners Have Been Announced

The European Inventor Award launched by the European Patent Office (EPO) in 2006, is one of Europe's most prestigious innovation prizes. It honours the inventors whose pioneering inventions provide answers to some of the biggest challenges of our times.

This year the award ceremony was held in hybrid format with the participation of the finalists from around the world.  An independent jury comprising of leading experts in their fields chose the winners in different categories: Industry, Research, Non-EPO countries, Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Lifetime achievement and the Popular Prize.

Exceptionally this year was also the first time of that the young inventors were celebrated, with the inaugural Young Inventors prize. The Young Inventors prize recognises individuals or teams of innovators aged 30 and younger. It celebrates the creativity and emerging talent of young inventors developing technological solutions that support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and positively impact our lives for a better future.

Participants who were not able to watch the live event, can follow the recording via inventoraward.org.
