Helping innovators and researchers to make the most of their results and inventions thereby generating societal impact is one of the key objectives of the Intellectual Property (IP) Action Plan published in 2020. Research and innovation serve as catalysts for driving the ongoing green and digital transitions forward. Facilitating easier access to and sharing of intellectual assets, as outlined in the IP Action Plan, is crucial for enhancing the valorisation of research outcomes and fostering the adoption of innovative solutions in the market.
Directorate-General for Research and Innovation unit of the European Commission recently published an infographic “Valorisation policies - Making research results work for society” highlighting the importance of leveraging the broadest range of intellectual assets for an increased social and economic value of research results. The infographic also covers some significant figures as well as the best practice examples.
