EU and IMPI Mexico report on the influence of IP on the Mexican economy

The European Union, through the IP Key Latin America project, in collaboration with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), have presented the study "The economic contribution of intellectual property in Mexico". This report quantifies, for the first time, the economic contribution in the country of the industries that protect trade marks, patents, designs, appellations of origin, among other sources of industrial property.

According to the study, Intellectual Property generates a third of all jobs in Mexico, and wages are 18% higher.
