EPO’s New Platform on Space-Related Inventions

space

The European Patent Office (EPO) has introduced a new technology platform designed to assist scientists and engineers in navigating the extensive array of free patent information. This platform focuses on space-related inventions, allowing users to easily find patent documents related to over 60 technical topics in cosmonautics and space observation. Patent examiners from national patent offices and the EPO have developed advanced search strategies, making it easier for those unfamiliar with patent searching to use Espacenet, the world’s most advanced patent literature database.

The EPO's free Deep Tech Finder now includes a new filter dedicated to space technologies, making it easier to access information on European start-ups involved in space-related patent applications at the EPO. The Deep Tech Finder features profiles of over 8,400 European start-ups, linked to their pending and granted European patents. Potential partners and investors can view the legal status of these patents as well as the startups' funding history.
