Following the successful first pilot, European Commission (EC) has just published the second edition of “WomenTech EU” supporting female-led deep tech start-ups. This year the budget has increased to EUR 10 million which means that up to 130 deep-tech start-ups led by women can benefit from the funding and business acceleration services. The winners will not only receive EUR 75 000 grant but also mentoring and coaching for leadership, internationalisation, business modelling, implementation strategy, market entry, fundraising, negotiating with investors and many more opportunities to help them take their business to the next level.
“WomenTech EU” is a brand new initiative of the European Union, funded under the European Innovation Ecosystems work programme of Horizon Europe with support from the European Innovation Council (EIC). With this initiative, the EC aims to support and encourage female innovators to create an equal European deep-tech ecosystem since women remain largely underrepresented across the deep tech industry while the sector itself accounts for over a quarter of Europe’s start-up ecosystem.
Applications can be submitted via the Funding & tenders portal until 4 October 2022, 17:00 (CEST).
