Cooperation between EUIPO and WIPO to harmonise their goods and services terms

The databases' goods and services from the EUIPO (Harmonised database) and WIPO (Madrid Goods & Services Manager) are being harmonised for 2 years already. This harmonisation reduces the burden on users and results in a smoother trade mark registration process.

The Harmonised Database and the Madrid Goods & Services Manager are online services designed to assist trade mark applicants and their representatives. It does so by helping them compile the lists of goods and services they need to submit when filing trade mark applications in participating offices.

The Madrid Goods & Services Manager allows users to check the acceptance of specific terms for 40 designated Contracting Parties, while the Harmonised Database covers 48 IP offices across the world, including all EU offices.
