The Chief Justice of India calls for raising the number of judges in High Courts

Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana recently stressed the need to raise the number of judges in high courts, in particular to efficiently tackle the rising number of intellectual property enforcement cases.

Ramana spoke as the main guest at the National seminar on Adjudication of IPR Disputes, organised by the Dehli High Court and stressed; "Judicial infrastructure needs to be improved... The challenge is to put the available resources to optimum use".

Nevertheless, this would not deter the Indian judiciary system to put the necessary mechanisms in place and efficiently address intellectual property litigations in India.
