A new round of the Horizon Impact Award has been launched by the European Commission. Applicants can hope to win a prize of 25.000 EUR each. Six winners will be chosen in total.
The award aims to show the importance of research and innovation that leads to create social benefits and has a positive impact on society. In addition to the prize money, winners will profit from an increased media coverage and higher visibility to showcase their achievements and best practices. With the award, the European Commission also hopes to encourage other beneficiaries to use and manage their results in the best way possible.
The contest is open for all beneficiaries of FP7 and Horizon 2020 projects. Applications should be submitted by 8 March 2022.
All winners will be announced in an award ceremony in Brussels in 2022. Further promotion of the winning projects at other major Commission events is planned as well.
