WIPO Global Awards celebrates exceptional enterprises and individuals making smart use of intellectual property (IP) for commercialization while simultaneously making a positive impact on society through innovation and creativity.
The annual competition is now open to self-nominations from candidates in all countries and business sectors. There are two additional award categories planned for women and youth, however the inaugural phase has started with enterprises.
Twenty nominees will be shortlisted and promoted on WIPO media outlets. A diverse, independent international jury with particular expertise in IP, innovation, the creative industries, investment, and business will select up to seven winners.
The winners will be awarded with a personalized mentorship program to strengthen the use of IP rights to achieve new business goals as well as support to facilitate access to funding and business opportunities. In addition, the award ceremony will take place in Geneva in July 2023 with several networking opportunities. International promotion, recognition and visibility will also be advantageous to the winners.
The application period is from January 16 to March 31, 2023.
