The Centre for IPR of Andhra University recently filed six patent applications at the Intellectual Property Office of Chennai. The innovations claimed, cover a wide range of sectors from pharmaceutical compounds for the treatment of gastritis and depression, data collection poles for floods, a bioactive compound to treat infections in livestock, and more. In addition, Andhra’s University made intellectual property a mandatory subject in a number of faculties.
Such actions show the commitment of this institution to promote and make full use of intellectual property protection. University’s Registrar Professor V Krishna Mohan said, the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights of the university aimed to raise awareness with regard to IPR among researchers and students and thus untap the full potential of its innovation ecosystem.
