Africa IP SME Helpdesk and the Smart City Expo World Congress Brokerage Event

Representatives from the Africa, India and Latin America IP SME Helpdesks joined the business matchmaking event. Attended by SMEs, start-ups, entrepreneurs and business services organisations, the event was a key opportunity to establish contacts with SMEs and project multipliers.  The helpdesk representatives raised awareness on their free services in support of business internationalisation, and received queries on IP protection and enforcement in African countries.

According to an OECD Study on Africa’s urbanisation dynamics, Africa will have the fastest urban growth rate in the world. By 2050, Africa’s cities will be home to an additional 950 million people. This ongoing transformation is sharply increasing economic opportunities in the region, a process in which innovative companies can deliver sustainable solutions to complement urban development strategies.
