Overview
MSME-Development Institute, Muzaffarpur is a field institute of office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), under Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. The institute (formerly known as Small Industries Service Institute, SISI) was established in the year 1978 with the objective of promotion and development of MSMEs in Bihar (especially North Bihar).
There are four important Cells, namely, (i) Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), (ii) Export Facilitation Centre (EFC), (iii) Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC), and (iv) Goods & Services Tax (GST) Facilitation Cell set up in this institute with an aim to provide techno-managerial consultancy and handholding support to MSMEs.
