Description
In 2026, with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) adjusting its fee structure and requiring foreign applicants to use a USPTO-registered agent for patent applications; the European Patent Office (EPO) officially implementing the new version of the 'Guidelines for the European Patent Convention' and the ongoing expansion of the European Unitary Patent system, and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) shortening the average examination period for invention patents to under 15 months, the patent applications have moved beyond just the administrative step of securing rights and have become a key part of building a company's global competitive edge. At the same time, the CNIPA, USPTO, and EPO stepping up efforts to screen out abnormal patent applications, and the spread of AI-assisted examination systems, making it easier for poorly written applications to show their flaws quickly. This shows that professional service capabilities are becoming a key factor in how efficiently companies can turn their tech assets into value.
This seminar precisely focuses on corporate pain points, closely following changes in the examination system of the CNIPA, the recent regulations formulated by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the practices of the Unified Patent Court in Europe, and the latest developments in cross-border dispute resolution, providing a platform for in-depth exchanges between government, enterprises, academia, research, and foreign-related legal experts. Guided by the Beijing Intellectual Property Office, organized by the Capital Intellectual Property Service Industry Association and Beijing (Zhongguancun) International Intellectual Property Service Hall, and co-hosted by European Chamber of Commerce, Beijing DHH Law Firm, Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, BAYRAMOGLU LAW OFFICES LLC and CASALONGA Intellectual Property Firm Munich Branch, the professional intellectual property exchange series event on ''Latest Intellectual Property Protectionand Practices in China, U.S.A., and Europe'' is scheduled to be held on the afternoon of September. 9, 2026.
