Joint Webinar: Protect, Share, Reuse - IP Management and Data Stewardship for Responsible Innovation

This session explores the intersection between IP management and data stewardship, bringing together the European IP Helpdesk perspective on protecting and managing intellectual assets with the data stewardship perspective on unlocking their value through responsible reuse.

Participants will explore key considerations around ownership and control, trade secrets and know-how, confidentiality, access rights, licensing and contractual safeguards, alongside practical data stewardship approaches for identifying valuable data, understanding data demand and supply, determining potential beneficiaries, and selecting appropriate governance and data-sharing mechanisms.

The session will also introduce the role of data stewardship within the impact licensing framework, demonstrating how data generated through the deployment of licensed technologies can become an additional asset that supports research, innovation, decision-making and societal impact.
