Description
Indonesia represents one of the world's largest halal markets, driven by a rapidly growing Muslim consumer base and increasing demand for halal-certified products across sectors such as food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, personal care, and lifestyle products. As the country continues to strengthen its halal regulatory framework, halal certification has become an essential requirement for market access, business credibility, and consumer trust.
Despite the significant opportunities offered by Indonesia’s halal economy, many international SMEs face challenges in understanding the country's halal certification ecosystem. These challenges include navigating regulatory requirements, compliance procedures, certification processes, documentation standards, and the roles of the various institutions involved. At the same time, growing interest from European and international businesses in accessing Indonesia’s expanding halal market has created a strong need for practical guidance and market intelligence.
This event aims to bridge that gap by providing participants with a comprehensive overview of Indonesia’s halal market and its business potential. The session will explore the halal sector as one of the fastest-growing segments of the Indonesian economy, highlighting key opportunities for foreign companies seeking to enter or expand within the market. In addition, participants will gain insights into the certification processes and intellectual property (IP) protection in Indonesia and understand how effective IP strategies can support successful and sustainable market entry.
To address these topics, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Indonesia Portugal (CCIIP), the Halal Institute of Spain, and the SEA IP SME Helpdesk are pleased to organise a dedicated event bringing together experts, business representatives, and stakeholders to discuss Indonesia’s halal market opportunities, regulatory and certification requirements, market entry considerations, and intellectual property protection strategies.
