Description
In September 2021 the Chinese government published the 15-year plan for protecting intellectual property rights. The plan aims to speed up intellectual property legislation for emerging technologies, including big data and AI. To achieve this, "the country will also formulate and revise laws and regulations to strengthen protections for trade secrets, improve the legal system to regulate the abuse of intellectual property rights, and legislate on monopoly practices and unfair competition related to intellectual property rights improve." (free translation).
Improvements in China's intellectual property laws and regulations will also benefit foreign intellectual property owners wishing to do business in China. An IP strategy remains an integral part of any business strategy, and therefore of crucial importance for SMEs. Learn more about current intellectual property protection efforts in China from IP and patent attorneys at the China IP SME Helpdesk. In this webinar, our expert, Thomas Pattloch, explains the differences in IP, patent and trademark registrations in China, discusses pitfalls and provides practical tips.
This will be followed by a Q&A session which provides a unique opportunity for participating SMEs to ask questions regarding their innovation/product and how IP could possibly apply.
