Egypt is a commercial powerhouse in the Mediterranean region. Its control over the world’s most important maritime corridor, the Suez Canal, coupled with a privileged geographical location has made it a key trading and investment hub.
In addition, in recent years, Egyptian authorities have revised their customs legislation to streamline the process of importing and exporting goods, effectively boosting investment opportunities in the country, particularly for SMEs. To help exporting businesses preserve their innovations, prevent counterfeiting, attract investment, maintain market exclusivity and build trust with partners, the Africa IP SME Helpdesk seeks to raise awareness of the role of intellectual property (IP) in trade with Egypt.
During this webinar, expert speakers from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and local legal experts in IP matters will discuss the following key topics:
- The role of the Africa IP SME Helpdesk in facilitating intra-African trade and African and European investment through IP
