With ever-comprehensive policy guidelines and developing new trends, ESG has become a hot topic in China that companies, big or small, cannot afford to ignore. A comprehensive ESG strategy that takes into account the newest reporting requirements and trends while also meeting not only the sustainability targets but also profit margins of companies is a must. In this seminar, two experts, Mr Dominik Nowak Eticor and Ms Lisa Lu from the China IP SME Helpdesk are invited to discuss different aspects of ESG helping companies to better navigate the field and design their own comprehensive ESG strategy for the China market.
Topics:
ESG & Corporate Social Credit System: New dimensions of compliance?!
Companies and their managers are confronted with new developments in the field of compliance, especially regarding ESG compliance and the Corporate Social Credit System (CSCS) in China. This new type of compliance has raised many questions and uncertainties among operators about its scope and applicability worldwide: Where does this new compliance come from? What are its drivers? How does it affect the businesses of today and tomorrow? What needs to be done from a management perspective?
Therefore, we will take the time to outline and discuss the current state of ESG compliance and CSCS while identifying the key success aspects and commonalities, especially with regards to digital success factors.
Designing your IP strategy in the context of ESG
IP strategy does not only concern the results presented in the ESG report, but IP should also be used as an effective method to protect technologies, ideas and solutions underpinning your ESG goals. An effective IP strategy for achieving your ESG goals encompasses the protection of IPs (mostly patents, along with copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets), the proper use of your IP, licensing of IP, and enforcement actions needed to assert your rights.
