SIA India: A License for Nationwide Impact

Impact Hub Hyderabad holds the exclusive license for the Social Impact Award (SIA) in India.

Social Impact Award (SIA) is a Vienna based organization with its regional chapters across 25+ countries.

The motto of SIA is to transform young minds into entrepreneurs. India being a huge country with more than 60% of its population being youth - we have a great prospect for transforming Indian youth into entrepreneurs.

The Pan-Indian license enables us to bring one of the world’s leading incubation programs in Social Entrepreneurship to the country. We equip youth with the tools, knowledge, and network to turn their ideas into scalable social ventures.

The Idea Behind Social Impact Award (SIA)

Founded in 2009, the Social Impact Award (SIA) is a global initiative supporting young social innovators through education, incubation, and community building.

The program fosters a new generation of changemakers by helping them develop sustainable and impactful solutions to societal challenges. Operating in 25+ countries, SIA has supported over 1,000 social ventures worldwide.

SIA India 2024: Program Overview

SIA India 2024, our pilot edition, successfully empowered young social innovators to transform their ideas into impactful social enterprises—all within just four months!

Despite the short timeline, we received 100+ applications from aspiring social entrepreneurs across three regions and provided in-depth mentorship and capacity-building to our finalists.

We had an international jury that supported thorough scrutiny of the applications.

The program included:

● Discovery Phase: Awareness-building sessions and workshops to inspire young changemakers.

● Application Phase: Received 100+ applications from passionate social entrepreneurs.

● Incubation Program: Shortlisted promising ideas and provided mentorship, capacity-building sessions, and expert guidance.

● Finalist Support: Helped top teams refine their business models, enhance their impact strategies, and prepare for the final pitch.

● Award Ceremony: Recognized the most promising ideas, with winners set to represent India at the SIA Global Summit.

SIA Global Summit 2024: Celebrating Innovation

The SIA Global Summit 2024 was a landmark event that united young entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, and ecosystem partners from around the world.

This gathering brought together all SIA country hosts along with their winning teams, creating a powerful space for cross-cultural exchange and collaboration. The Summit featured:

● Keynote speeches from global and national experts in social innovation

● Panel discussions on impact-driven entrepreneurship

● Networking opportunities with investors and ecosystem enablers

SIA India 2025: Scaling Up and Regional Expansion

Building on the success of 2024, SIA India 2025 aims to expand its reach and deepen its impact through strategic regional partnerships. Key goals include:

● Expanding Reach: Engaging 10,000+ youth across 20+ Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

● Supporting More Innovators: Incubating 100+ social entrepreneurs with structured mentorship and resources.

● Creating Regional Innovation Clusters: Establishing 10 clusters in partnership with engineering and business colleges to foster grassroots innovation.

● Strengthening Mentorship & Funding: Growing a network of 100+ mentors and 50+ impact investors to support young changemakers.

● Boosting Media & Government Engagement: Securing national media exposure and aligning with government initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Skill India.
