SME Fund 2025: Applications for Vouchers Reopen on 20 October

The Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund is a grant scheme designed to help EU-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) protect their intellectual property (IP) rights. The Fund is an initiative of the European Commission, implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and will run until 5 December 2025.

Since its launch, the Fund has been instrumental in helping SMEs across the European Union safeguard their IP and stimulate innovation. Introduced as a pilot programme in 2021, it has, over the past four years, provided support to more than 95,000 SMEs by reimbursing eligible IP-related services and fees, thereby reinforcing the innovative capacity and competitiveness of European businesses.

On 20 October 2025 the following vouchers reopened for applications, as funds have been made available:

  • Voucher 1 – IP Scan (IP pre-diagnostic service) and IP Scan Enforcement
  • Voucher 2 – Trademarks and Designs
  • Voucher 3 – Patents
