Report on AI governance guidelines

The Indian government is developing an "AI for India-Specific Regulatory Framework" to address both the opportunities and risks presented by AI in India's unique socio-economic landscape. A multi-stakeholder Advisory Group and a Subcommittee on ‘AI Governance and Guidelines Development’ were formed to create actionable recommendations for AI governance. The Subcommittee has released a report emphasizing a coordinated governmental approach to ensure responsible AI development. The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has published the report for public consultation, seeking feedback to create a robust and inclusive framework.
