Out Now: Scaling Deep Tech in Europe – EIC Impact Report 2025

European Innovation Council (EIC) Impact Report, with a focus on the Horizon Europe portfolio, provides insights into around 706 start-ups, 402 advanced research projects, and 183 initiatives dedicated to commercialising research results, all funded between 2021 and 2024. It also examines the long-term impact of projects and companies supported during the EIC pilot phase and its predecessor programmes.

According to the latest edition of the report, the EIC Fund has established itself as one of Europe's foremost early-stage technology investors. Under Horizon Europe, it has completed over 150 investment rounds in start-ups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) — including 60 rounds completed in 2024 alone. 

Additionally, the EIC has played a pivotal role in driving technological advancements from Europe’s research base. Through its Pathfinder and Transition projects, the EIC has supported the development of over 1,300 innovations and contributed to the creation of more than 100 spinout companies.
