The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has published Episode 4 of its podcast series “Creative Sparks: From Inspiration to Innovation,” focusing on women’s participation in intellectual property (IP).

The episode “Women in IP: From Talent to Impact” examines how IP can help women innovators and entrepreneurs turn ideas into tangible economic and social outcomes. It highlights the need to build more inclusive innovation ecosystems and to increase women’s involvement across sectors such as science, technology, business, and the creative industries.

The discussion also addresses persistent barriers, including limited access to funding, networks, and mentorship, which continue to affect women’s engagement in innovation and IP systems. At the same time, it emphasises how IP rights, such as trademarks, designs, and copyright, can support business development and scaling.

The episode further underlines the role of organisations like the EUIPO in fostering inclusiveness through awareness-raising, evidence-based research, and targeted initiatives.
