Navigating Intellectual Property Rights in Indonesia: An Overview

Intellectual property (IP) rights have existed in Indonesia since Dutch Colonial times under Reglement Industriele Eigendom No. 545 of 1912 for trademarks, Auteurswet Stb No. 600 of 1912 for copyrights, and Ooctroi Wet No. 313 of 1910 for copyrights. These laws have remained in place even after independence in 1945 before being changed in 1961.
