The European IP Helpdesk has made its fact sheet "Inventorship, Authorship and Ownership" available in Serbian, expanding access to practical IP guidance for a wider audience.
The publication explains the important distinction between owning intellectual property rights and being recognised as the inventor or author of a creation, concepts that are often confused despite their different legal implications. Understanding these differences is essential, as incorrect management of these rights can affect the validity of intellectual property rights or lead to legal disputes.
The fact sheet provides a clear overview of the characteristics of ownership, inventorship, and authorship, offering practical guidance on how these rights should be managed throughout the innovation process. It is designed to help researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and other creators correctly identify and address these issues, reducing legal risks and supporting effective IP management.
