EUIPO Launches ‘Early TM Screening’ to Streamline Trademark Applications

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has unveiled ‘Early TM Screening’, a new standalone pre-assessment tool designed to help users identify potential issues with their prospective trademarks before filing.

This innovative online tool aims to make the trademark filing process smoother, simpler, and less error-prone by detecting early on any potential problems that could lead to refusal. By doing so, it helps applicants safeguard their time and financial investment, ensuring a more efficient and confident application experience.

While many of these pre-assessment checks have previously been available within the EUIPO’s e-filing system, Early TM Screening consolidates all of them into a single, user-friendly interface. It allows businesses, entrepreneurs, and legal practitioners to perform comprehensive checks in advance, helping them prepare and submit stronger, more compliant trademark applications.
