Collaborative Workshop: A Model of Cooperation in Managing IP & Fostering Innovation within EU-Funded Projects

Horizon Academy

European IP Helpdesk is happy to announce an upcoming workshop on "Managing IP and Fostering Innovation within EU-Funded Projects", scheduled for 13 November 2024, in Brussels. This workshop exemplifies the power of cooperation among key European partners to enhance specifically the expertise of National Contact Points (NCPs) and NCP Coordinators.

The session will dive into crucial topics designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical tools for effective IP management within the Horizon Europe framework:

  • IP Management Across the Project Lifecycle: Participants will gain insights into managing IP throughout the stages of an EU-funded project, illustrated by practical case studies.
  • Intellectual Asset Management and Innovation Entrepreneurship: Real-world examples will highlight the importance of asset management and entrepreneurship in fostering innovation, offering actionable strategies and best practices.
  • IP in Academia-Industry Collaborations: This session will address common questions surrounding IP in partnerships between academic institutions and industry, a frequent scenario within EU-funded collaborations.
  • Essential IP Tools for NCPs: Attendees will be introduced to valuable resources, such as the Horizon Results Platform and the Booster, designed to support IP valorisation and project impact.
  • The Role and Value of Standardisation in Knowledge Valorisation: Standardisation plays a pivotal role in translating research into real-world applications, and this topic will explore its impact on knowledge valorisation within EU projects.

This workshop is a collaborative effort supported by the Hub Brussels, the Horizon Academy NCP4HE, the European IP Helpdesk, Praxi Network, and the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission and the Horizon Standardisation Booster. Together, these partners have created an enriching program tailored to NCPs, showcasing the value of cross-institutional cooperation in promoting innovation and maximising the impact of EU-funded projects.

Please note that the workshop is specifically designed for NCPs and it will be NCP participation only.
